Song Lyrics

WALK OUTSIDE

by Richard Tarrier

We’re gonna take a walk outside today
Gonna see what we can find today
Gonna take a walk outside today
Gonna see what we can find today.

On a pretty little farm the sun comes up
On a curious cat and a pug nose pup
A brand new life outside the door.
Follow your nose and go explore.

Refrain

Such a great big world that’s all set up
For a curious cat and a pug nose pup
Friends to meet and places to be
It’s all new and fun to see.

Refrain

Now the journey’s over and we’re heading back home
With a very good friend you’re never alone
Stories to tell, stories to hear
Be a lot more in the comin’ year.

Refrain

Saw a fox and an owl and a turtle and a bear
Different animals everywhere,
Each one where they wanted to be
Some on the farm, some livin’ free.

Refrain

Now our story has come to an end
But we’ll ahve more to share my friend
Tomorrow mormnin’ when the sun comes up
On a curious cat and a pug nose pup.

A HAPPY HORSE

by Dan Crow

A happy horse, he ate too fast
Was eating hay on Sunday last
When halfway through his gobbling feast
The hiccups hit this greedy beast

He hicced his hat right off his head
He hicced himself right out of bed
He hicced away his hairy tale
He hicced and kicked his water pail

He hicced and hicced and hicced ’til when
He kicked the hog out of it’s pen
Well the hog it squealed and ran about
Til from the house there came a shout!

The dogs all howled and the hens did cluck
The cows all mooed and the horse hiccupped
Well the farmer yelled so loud that day
He scared the horses hics away
And now that horse is wise to know
He’s better off by eating slow

MARCHING MUSIC

by Dan Crow

Marching music give me some
Marching music on the big bass drum
Everybody, everyone
Let’s bang on the big bass drum

Marching music hear the tone
Marching music on the slide trombone
Everybody play your own
And blow on the slide trombone

Chorus:
March, march, march to the music
March, march, march to the music

March to the music and bang on the drum
And blow on the slide trombone

March to the music and bang on the drum
And blow on the slide trombone
Marching music can’t forget
Marching music on the old trumpet
If everybody’s lips are set
Let’s toot on the old trumpet

I LOVE A CIRCUS

by Dan Crow

Chorus:
I love a circus, I love a circus clown
I love a big parade
The day the circus comes to town
I love the colors, they set the circus mood
I love the music and I even love the circus food

Ooo I love a, yes I love a
Ooo I love a, yes I love a
Ooo I love a circus I do

I love the walkers on the highwire
And the elephants dancing on their knees
And the big cats jumping through a ring of fire
And the people flying on the high trapeze

Chorus

I see a seal with a beach ball
And a pretty lady standing on a horse
And a person who pretends to be a cannonball
And the ringmaster’s very good of course

BLOWING UP BALLOONS

by Dan Crow

Chorus:
Blowing up balloons
Blowing up balloons
Blowing up balloons
Blowing up balloons

The air begins to flow
My face begins to glow
Each balloon I blow
Seems to go so slow… while I’m

Chorus

Might blink
I think
It’s only play
But that’s okay
Can’t glop
I have to stop
Before that big balloon goes POP!

Chorus

I like to seem them fly
I’m glad when they fly high
A filled one I’d supply
But balloons are hard to tie… while I’m

WALKIN’ ON MY WHEELS

by Mark Cohen and Dan Crow

My name’s Terry and I’m nine
Take a look at this amazing chair of mine
It’s silver and black and the wheels go ’round
I can take it slow or really cover ground

Chorus:

Walkin’ on my wheels
Walkin’ on my wheels
People let me tell you
Just how good it feels
I’ll go anywhere
If I’ve got my chair
Watch me now, I’m
Walkin’ on my wheels

Everyday when I go to school
I ride in a van that’s really pretty cool
A lift takes my chair right down to the floor
I just remove the strap and I’ll race you to the door

Chorus

Wasn’t that funny when the substitute teacher
Asked us to name that silly looking creature
I raised my hand and she nearly dropped her chalk,
She thought I couldn’t think, just because I couldn’t walk

Chorus

Can you come on over, asks your folks
We can use the computer, or just tell jokes
And later on I can come and visit you
If your building has a ramp so my chair can visit too

A FRIEND, A LAUGH, A WALK IN THE WOODS

by Dan Crow

A friend, a laugh and a walk in the woods,
Those are things that I like best.
(Sung throughout song)

A friend, it’s nice to have a friend. It’s nice to have lots of friends. Friends to play with and

friends to share with. Friends to listen. Friendly friends. A friend.
Yep, that I like.

A laugh. I love to laugh. I love to giggle, I love to sniggle. I like to have fun. I like to be silly, I like to guffaw. Fuuuffaaawww! Yep, that I like. A laugh!

A walk in the woods. I like the trees, the breeze. Sit by a stream and dream.

Love nature. Love the animals, and the birds, the flowers, the fish, the bugs.
Yep, a walk in the woods that I like.

There is one more thing I like, besides a friend, a laugh, and a walk in the woods. It’s kinda personal, but I guess I could tell you. It kinda puts all three together. It’s a … it’s a … well, it’s… aaaaa … sparagus! Yep, that I like.

FORGET IT!

by Dan Crow, Justine Millward

Mom Mom Mommy Mommy Mommy…
Forget it!

Tell me why it’s hard to get your attention
Every time that I have something to say
There is one thing that I think I should mention
I wish that you would listen to me, okay?

Dad Daddy Hey Dad Daddy Daddy. . .
Dad Hey Daddy Hey Daddy Hey Daddy
Hey Daddy Hey Daddy
Forget it!
Tell me why it’s hard to get your attention

Every time that I have something to say
There is one thing that I think I should mention
I wish that you would listen to me, okay?

Dan Crow, Hey Dan Crow,
Hey Danny Hey Dan Hey Danny Hey Danny Hey Danny. ..
Forget It!

Tell me why it’s hard to get my attention
Every time that you have something to say
There is one thing that I think we should mention
I wish that everyone would listen, okay?
Okay?
Okay?
Forget it!

THE SHAPE OF MY SHADOW

by Dan Crow

Chorus:
Oh the shape of my shadow
Is a shape that I make
The shape of my shadow
It shakes when I shake
The shape of my shadow
I should report
That the shape of my shadow can be tall and can be short

My shadow runs along when I chase it
And my shadow sits down with me in a chair
My shadow stays right there when I touch it
Everything we do we always share

Chorus

My shadow’s always there when the sun shines
But my shadow fades away in the shade
It hides when it’s cloudy, what a sad shame
And at night I wish my shadow could have stayed

HALEAKALA

by Dan Crow

Take a look at all the pretty fishes
That are swimming in the deep blue sea
Take a look at all the pretty flowers
That are growing by the coconut tree
Take a look at all the happy people
That have come to have a lot of fun
Take a look at all the pretty islands
That are warming in the tropical sun

Haleakala, Hale Kameoli
Haleakala, Hey!
Haleakala, Hale Kameoli
Haleakala, Hey!

Haleakala, Hale Kameoli
Haleakala, Hey!
Haleakala, Hale Kameoli
Haleakala, Hey!

  Aloha, aloha, Hawaii hello
  Aloha, aloha, Hawaii goodbye

ON THE MOVE

by Dan Crow

The truck is going down the road
The truck is on the move
The train is rolling down the track
The train is on the move
The plane is flying ’round and ’round
The plane is on the move
Everything is moving, everything is on the move

Chorus:
On the move we’re moving slow
On the move we’re moving fast
On the move we’re moving back and forth
Nobody’s first or last

The rabbit’s hopping up the hill
The rabbit’s on the move
The turtle’s crawling down the hill
The turtle’s on the move
The bird is flying ’round and ’round
The bird is on the move
Everything is moving, everything is on the move

YEA DADDY

by Dan Crow

After school I take the bus
To the bus stop, then I walk
I have to walk a hundred miles,
Well, maybe one long block

Last week it was raining hard
And when I got to the bus stop
Who was there to pick me up
My father, my daddy, my pop

Refrain:

Yea Daddy (four times)

I told Daddy thanks a lot
And he said, “Son, oh you bet,
We can’t have my growin’ boy
Gettin’ soaking wet!”

Daddy asked me how was school
And I said” It was fun!”
We got to study outer space,
And learn about the sun

Refrain

It felt good to ride with Dad
But then I had an awful thought,
I looked around and said, “Oh No!
There’s something I forgot,

Dad I think I left my trumpet
In the bus, on the seat!”
And Dad said, “We’ll catch that bus,
They’re not hard to beat.”

Refrain

I thought Daddy might be mad
But he said, “Son, it’s okay,
Everybody makes mistakes,
It happens every day.”

Well pretty soon we caught that bus,
Then I ran and I got my horn,
And I think I’ll do like Daddy did when my own son is born.

TO BE A FRIEND

by Dan Crow

What does it mean to be a friend?
What does it mean to be a buddy?
It means you share and you care
And you try to be there
When a friend has something missin’

Through the tears and the fears
You can lend both ears
When a friend needs you to listen
That’s what it means to be a friend,

That’s what it means to be a friend,
Be a buddy, be a pal, be a chum,
Be around to lend a hand as a rule of thumb.
Be there to care and help out some,
Be a friend, be a buddy, be a pal,
Be a chum.
